Dawn Lake History

Dawn Lake was completed in 1970 and remains one of just a few lakes in the Phoenix-metro area and it is the largest of only two man-made lakes in Sun City. Surprisingly, there is very little documented history of Dawn Lake in Del Webb or Sun City archives.

If you, or someone you know, have photos, articles, information on your Dawn Lake home, the building of Dawn Lake, or Sun City history from 1970-1990 (or later!) please let us know we'd love to see what you have. We're also interested in talking with people who can provide us with an oral history of the lake. Help us to preserve and grow Dawn Lake history.
